Once you have placed one or more labware on the virtual bench, you can start implementing pipetting or other actions (see the section "Pipetting actions / Protocol steps" in the "OneLab: Protocol Design" collection, to learn more about pipetting actions/protocol steps). You can also move the labware to your preferred configuration.

Further options are available via the contextual menu button ( ) present on the small black contextual menu bar when you select a labware:

Rename: You can change the default display name. To do so, click on “Rename”, then type the new name (1) and confirm by hitting the ‘enter’ key on your keyboard or clicking the green check mark (2). You may cancel by clicking the black “X” or click anywhere outside the text box:

Replicate: You can replicate a labware present in the virtual bench at the number of times you desire. The newly created labware will have the same name as the original labware, with an additional number (#2, #3, etc.) to keep track of the different instances:

Delete/Replace: If you put a wrong labware on the virtual bench, you can either delete it, or replace it with the one you desire. In case you select the replace option, you will automatically be brought to the “Replace labware” menu, which is almost identical to the “Add labware to the bench” menu, except that you only replace a single labware and do not have the option to create a shopping list with several labware at once. See also the article “Adding labware to the virtual bench”.

View labware info: In this contextual menu you can choose to show additional information about the labware. This will be displaced on the Labware Info tab on the right side of your screen.

Define reagent at start: Finally, you can define a “reagent at start”, which is explained in more detail in the article “Fill a labware with a reagent”.
