🏷️ Sample tracking for all your samples prep method

Traceability is key when it comes to preserve the link from sample to analytical data, and from today, OneLab will help you further streamline your sample tracking.

OneLab enables you to design the path followed by the sample during a sample prep experiment, from source to the final target labware where the sample will be processed.

In doing so, and for each experiment, source samples and "children" will be created and stored in the OneLab database.

Additionally, if you have provided a sample identifier such as a barcode number or info from a worklist (via import), the software will record it and let you export the sample information at the end of the execution.

How does it work?

1. In the protocol designer, define the samples references used in your protocol.

2. Then, define the target labware of your experiment, where your prepared samples, also referred to as child samples, will end up.

3. During your experiment preparation, you now will be able to add IDs to you sample and/or labware.

Note: You can add IDs in three ways: manually, using a barcode wand - as in the above video - or by importing information from a CSV file.

4. Experiment report will now display exportable information on your child sample

Note: You can also add IDs to your child sample and export your sample information after validating the report.

Improvement

Protocol designer

  • Advanced automation specialists can customize tip position that bypasses the minimum volume requirement for a pipetting step; this setting needs to be used with caution since there is a risk of collision between the pipette tip and the labware.
  • We updated the Heat/cool action to enable the analyst to enter a negative temperature.
  • Behaviour of the user interface, when using air cushions with repetitive and reverse mode, has been adjusted to better reflect reality.
